Elmer The Patchwork Elephant

Elmer the Patchwork Elephant is a children’s picture book series by the British author David McKee. Elmer is an elephant who has a colourful body, with yellow, orange, red, pink, purple, blue, green, black and white arranged as a patchwork.

This simple craft idea, inspired by the wonderful BAF pupils at StTolas, is perfect for the classroom – suitable for pre-school, junior and senior infants.

Ideas:
Colour in, glue on tissue paper or do some sponge painting to make Elmer look how he does in the book – why not create a herd to display around the classroom walls!.
